 Best bulb! October 28, 2008

I run these in my '88 Volkswagen Scirocco and they provide excellent, white light. I run H4 for the high/low beams and H3 for the high beams and driving lights. Even on low beams without the driving lights these light up the roadway and signs much better than standard halogen bulbs.
I also run these in my '02 Nissan Xterra and '01 Toyota Highlander, and while I have noticed the bulb life is shorter than traditional halogen bulbs, with daily commuter use (morning and evening) I have gotten up to a year out of the equivalent Silverstar bulbs for those vehicles.
Excellent bulb, excellent price from Amazon. Buy with confidence.
 Improved Lighting September 3, 2008

I often ride my motorcycle at night; but, always had a hard time seeing what was out in front of me. A friend recommended installing the Silver Star so I did. I can't say it improved the light output to that of a car; but, it has improved enough that I would recommend it as a replacement for the original bulb.

First off, this is a motorcycle specific bulb - it's designed to handle more viabration than the automobile version.
This is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to add more visibility to your motorcycle. These bulbs are noticably brighter than stock bulbs which helps you stand out during the daytime. I can also notice a big difference at nighttime on both low and high beam.
For even more safety, add a headlight modulator which makes the light flicker on/off when there's daylight. The right modulator will not stress the bulb at all. All the cars notice me now which greatly reduces the chance they will pull out in front of me.

I though it would be a gimmick or a waste of money when I bought this bulb. The stock bulb on my Suzuki C50 cruiser would not let me go beyond 60MPH at night, as I would out run the headlight (actually on a country road, it was more like 45MPH). This bulb made an immediate difference. Not only can I see further, but the peripheral vision is much better as well. I feel much safer driving at night with this bulb.

This is an excellent addition for visibility. Couple this with a headlight modulator and you will be safer for it.
