| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Sylvania SilverStar Ultra High Performance Halogen Headlight is fashioned for brighter and whiter light. It has dual filament for both high beam and low beam. This operates with internal gas pressure which significantly reduces the rate of tungsten evaporation. Its analogous non-halogen incandescent lamp operates the same filament temperature with greater luminance and efficiency. This combined effect of higher pressure and the halogen cycle give halogen lamp much longer life.

Great bulb July 22, 2010 MiracleMan The silverstar ultra bulbs are very bright. I put them on my 83 yr old fathers suburban for added saftey. You will notice a big difference from stock bulb. The price on amazon was 2 bulb pack for about the price of 1 bulb from local parts store. Only 4 stars due to reduced bulb life...they won't last as long. You may want to carry a spare bulb in vehicle if you do a lot of night driving.
Good lights, but burn out like clockwork July 13, 2010 S. Cohen (Edina, MN USA) These lights really enhance visibility over standard headlight bulbs, but they are virtually guaranteed to burn out quickly. It even tells you that on the box. One of the two just burned out less than a month after the 12-month guarantee period Sylvania claims on the box, and that's with under 6000 miles of driving. That said, I'm either going to buy them again and suck up the fact that they will have to be replaced every year, or I will look into an HID conversion. I can't wait until LED is good enough for headlights.
Bottom line, I think it's crazy not to have this kind of visibility at night, even if it costs $30/year. And please DO get Sylvania to replace your bulbs if either one burns out sooner! I've done it before, and it usually takes just a phone call or email.
Not long lasting, but extra light is worth it July 13, 2010 J. Francoeur (Maine USA) I live in a rural state, where many areas don't have good lighting. These lights are a lot brighter than my OEM Silverado bulbs. The only issues is that they don't last long, as many other state. I think that's a decent trade off, for how much light they throw off, though.
I don't drive my truck too much at night, but when I do, I can trust these lights to guide my way, and light up the road well. I'd recommend these, but know that they don't last as long as the OE bulbs.
Better Than Stock - Worth it for me May 13, 2010 M. Isaacson (Portland, OR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These bulbs have a brighter, whiter light to them with a mild bluish tint. I think they made an overall improvement in my headlights. You don't necessarily see farther with them but what you do see is clearer. Road signs seem to shine at a farther distance and animal eyes seem to stand out more if you encounter them, even wet roads are a little easier to see on. They did not last a long time for me (around a year for low beam, highs are still working) but I would have no qualms about buying them again. I bought both high and low beams and are happy with both.
Doesn't fit 2002 Chevy Tahoe April 30, 2010 R. Almanza (Southern California) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I double check the references on here and it does not fit a 2002 Chevy Tahoe as it claims to. the socket is similar but the plugs are not. Package has been returned.
